Hindi Thinking Pattern¶
Once the conversation has started, Hindi speakers naturally think:
- आपका नाम क्या है?
- आप कहाँ से हैं?
- आप क्या करते हैं?
- यहाँ कैसे आना हुआ?
- क्या आप भी पहली बार आए हैं?
- किस कंपनी में हैं?
- क्या आप यहीं रहते हैं?
- पढ़ाई कर रहे हैं या काम?
- आपके बारे में थोड़ा जानूँ।
- बातचीत आगे बढ़ाते हैं।
Core intention
The goal is to know the other person a little better while sharing basic information about yourself.
Natural English Expressions¶

Nuance¶
English conversations usually alternate between asking and sharing.
Instead of asking five questions in a row, native speakers often answer their own question after the other person responds.
Example:
A: Where are you from?
B: Pune.
A: Nice! I'm from Delhi.
That keeps the conversation balanced.

Common Thinking Traps¶
❌ What is your good name?
✅ What's your name?
Why? "Good name" is an Indian English expression and is uncommon in natural spoken English.
❌ From where are you?
✅ Where are you from?
Why? Native speakers naturally place the question word first.
❌ Which company you are working?
✅ Which company do you work for?
Why? English questions require the helping verb and the preposition "for" in this pattern.
